Internet Gambling

This is a response that I got from Norm Dicks-D from the state of Washingtong concerning Internet Gambling.

Quote:

Thank you for contacting me to express your opinion about gambling on the internet. I appreciate your comments on this issue.
Americans wager more than $4 to $6 billion a year on online . But virtually all servers that maintain websites that provide gambling online are located outside of the United States, and are effectively unregulated by any entity, including the United States. However, many of the financial transactions that support these operations originate in the U.S., which can be regulated by Congress.
Earlier this year, I supported H.R. 4411, the Internet Gambling Prohibition and Enforcement Act, which calls upon federal regulators to devise and implement a regulatory scheme to identify and block financial transactions related to illegal internet gambling. I am hopeful that by constricting the supply of money to offshore casinos, Congress will be able to effectively halt gambling over the internet.
This bill is now under consideration by the Senate. Should it return to the House for any reason, please be assured I will recall your comments.

end quote.

What a total moron. Congress has effectively governed anything, yet, Congressman Dicks thinks that they can halt gambling over the Internet. What a Baffoon. Why should Americans be able to do what they want with their own money. Why aren't they regulating the Porn industry over the Internet? lol
